To the degree the whole of the people of a nation are saved and come to an accurate, working knowledge of the good news concerning Christ then to that degree that nations government, religion, science, military, art, philosophy, and all else will be blessed.
That “the whole is equal to the sum of the parts” is an argued statement from some sciences and an abused statement in philosophy. Concerning the people of a nation; first, what people think is real, and then act upon is what they believe. Then what each individual of a nation believes, added to the believing of all other individuals of that nation, is then what makes up the believing of the nation.
From this will come a nations entities such as the government, religion, science, military, academics, art, music, philosophy, industry and all else that makes up that nation. What you have to be clear on is that the entities do not make what the nation and the people are. The believing of the people make what the nation is and the nation make what the entities are.
I should note that in the Old Testament one believer could chase a thousand and two ten thousand. So today, God’s sons and daughters, born again by God’s grace in Christ, having Christ in them, have great effect upon the believing of any nation.
Where we could go wrong is in thinking we can change the entities and fix the problems of the nation. This not only does not work, it is destructive. This is like treating symptoms to cure a disease. We must treat the cause and the symptoms will go away.
We could send Jesus to run the country with Moses and the 70 as the Judges, you could fill the legislature with all the prophets and apostles and if the people of the nation do not believe God it will do little good, the nation will not prosper not have peace or not have liberty.
The point is you will fix nothing by trying to correct problems in the government or the people in the government until you have first helped the people of a nation see the goodness of God in Christ and the great importance it is that we know and keep God’s Word.
The way we do this is for individuals who know what is right to show and teach individuals who do not. No entity of society is a tool to do this, although people working in any entity can be.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Truly no nation has ever been or will be “good”; in this world there was and is always some evil. God’s Word clearly stated there will be Wars, sickness, and evil men.
Mark 13:7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Yet a nation will be blessed to the degree people of that nation believe God. Those who believe God truly can deal with the evil that comes. It is a simple matter the more light then less darkness.
Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Only as men and women are saved and come to an accurate, working knowledge of the good news concerning Christ will they be blessed. To the degree the whole of the people of a nation are saved and come to an accurate, working knowledge of the good news concerning Christ then to that degree that nations government, religion, science, military, art, philosophy, and all else will be blessed.
